Parade Day: Route, Lineup, and Float Registration

Where the Grand Ledge St. Patrick's Day Parade steps off, the downtown route, and how to register an Irish-themed float.

The Grand Ledge St. Patrick's Day Parade steps off at 2:00 PM on parade Saturday from the Sawdon Administration Building at 220 Lamson Street, Grand Ledge, Michigan 48837. From there the route runs through downtown Grand Ledge to the fire barn, lined the whole way by families, neighbors, and visitors from across Mid-Michigan.

Every entry in the parade must carry an Irish theme or be decorated in Irish colors — it is a St. Patrick's Day parade, after all. Community groups, families, clubs, and businesses are all welcome to enter a float or walking group. Entrants complete an application form and are placed in the lineup at the parade staging area at St. Michael Catholic Church in Grand Ledge.

Float registration closes a week or so before the parade so organizers can build the lineup, so anyone hoping to march should submit early. Whether you are entering a float or just coming to watch, plan to arrive downtown well before the 2:00 step-off to find a good spot along the route.
